Snow in Gilbert?

for the briefest moment yesterday...it did indeed snow in Gilbert, Arizona. Crazy! Right? as we sat in church yesterday morning, Kenzie and I in Relief Society looked out the window and watched as the storm became slushy snow. it lasted only a couple of minutes before turning into hail and then into rain.

i was wishing i had my phone or camera with me. all the ladies in the room were trying to catch a glimpse of this monumental moment. in the 11 years that i have lived here, never has it snowed in Gilbert. the poor lady teaching had no clue that everyone was fixated on that window and not listening one bit to her lesson. it was a great lesson, but snow was exciting and new!

i know i have no proof...other than a room full of ladies that saw and Kenzie who went outside to stand in it. it proves that you never know what can or will happen. life is crazy, unpredictable and full of new adventures. who knows when snow will hit Gilbert again? not anytime soon! yesterday temp's were in the 50's, today is in the 60's and later this week we will be 80. packing away the sweaters and bringing out the shorts and the flip flops. gotta love spring in Arizona!

It's Official!

It is official...
Mackenzie has been accepted into the
Elementary Education Department at BYU!
She starts April 26th
and will graduate December 2012.

I can't believe my girl is leaving home.
It is happening so fast and I don't
feel ready to let her go.

The thoughts keep coming....
have I taught her everything, can she cook,
do laundry and most importantly
can she fend off all the eager boys!

What an exciting time for her.
Kenzie...we are so proud of you
and love you very much!
Go get'em girl!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Mother/Daughter

Today the resident ballerina and I head out on
a mother/daughter trip.
We are headed to see her friend perform
as Cinderella.

We will also see Ballet West's
production of Sleeping Beauty.
In addition to these great performances,
Jensen will get to attend a ballet class
with BYU ballet...a dream come true.
And on Saturday she will audition
for Ballet West Summer Intensive.
WOW! What a weekend!
The only problem is I am not ready
to embrace the cold. Brrrrrr!
As Jensen and I fly into SLC tonight
we will pass Scott in the air as he
heads home for the week.
What a crazy life we have!

Brrrrrrrrrr!

What is usually a sunny, lovely golf tournament in Arizona
has meet its match this week in the form of cold weather.
Arizona has not been this cold since 1990.
This is how spectators looked along the course
Thursday in cold temperatures.
It was 27 this morning when I took Jensen to school.
Brrrrrrrrr!
Yes, we are babies in Arizona!

February

It is hard to imagine that most of the United States
looks like this.....

When Arizona looks like this.

It is a little chilly here this week as we gear up
for the golf tournament.
Of course, nothing like elsewhere.

Welcome February!
Blossoms, sunshine and spring in the air.
Oh, how we LOVE Arizona
